Welcome to Welbeck Class 2023-24!

Welbeck is back in its traditional format this year of being a Year 5 & 6 mixed class. Mrs Kay is the teaching assistant that will be working regularly in class. We are also glad to have a few volunteers to help us on our journey.

Our P.E. day will initially be Tuesday, so please provide full Cuckney kit on this day - during September and October we will be playing football.

French will be taught on a Wednesday afternoon by Madame Davey.

Our topic for the upcoming term is The British Empire (inc. Australia and India). Which is coupled with fun experience days, such as Australia Day, an Indian themed day and our trip to The National Holocaust Centre.

Spelling homework is weekly and is to be handed in on or before Friday and will be tested on Monday morning. Additional maths homework will be given out on a Wednesday, to be completed before the following Wednesday.

Children can purchase snacks from the school kitchen at break times, a copy of the daily menu is on display in the classroom.

This year children can earn a house point for each smiley they are awarded, as per the school's behaviour policy. Their house point teams are the same as their sports day teams.

SATs week is Monday 13th May-Thursday 16th May, so please don't book any holidays on these dates! 

I will be on the playground each day either before or after school (usually both), please use this time to have any small chats with myself, or to arrange a good time to meet for a more important conversation.
